Krosbéy Backup Online is an online backup-service for computer data. It consists of a few backup servers that are being managed by Krosbéy Solutions in highly secure datacenters and of client software that can be installed on your PC workstations and/or on your Servers.
Contact with the backup-servers is made through existing Internet connections through which data exchanges can be made.
You always have 24/7 secure access to your company data and you can make easy and quick data recoveries.
Expensive investments in tape drives, tapes and tape taxi’s or in damage sensitive backups on CD/DVD are not necessary anymore. Krosbéy Backup Online takes the risks of these time-consuming and expensive backups away.
Krosbéy Backup Online is borderless, so also good for your foreign establishments.

Managed Service
After full installation of the software it can be activated by the user ID and password which have been provided. Secondly, an encryption key will have to be filled in which is only known by the user to decode the data. The data also cannot be read by us. Finally after selection of the right adjustments, the backup selection will be enrolled.
After installation and configuration of the software, regular backups will be made in accordance with the defined schedule. Krosbéy Backup Bank will report to you on a daily basis what the status of the backup service is. This information is summarized in an easy to read dashboard , which is emailed to you and contains links to more detailed information on our customer portal.
Inhouse
Particularly for the top SMEs and big enterprise it is important to manage their data Inhouse. We offer companies the possibility to control their own Backup Appliances. Security and reliability are two keywords for Krosbéy. We have taken several measures to store your data in a very secure way. The security of the Krosbéy Backup Bank is organized as follows:- The systems are stored in a secured data centre. The data centers meet the highest quality standards; there are 19” sealable racks used and only authorized employees of Krosbéy have access to them. The data centers are equipped with heavy UPS, diesel generators, fire extinguishers, 24/7 security, etc.
- Access to the backup servers is secured by a state-of-the-art firewall system
- The communication between the backup client and the backup server happens via a proprietary protocol. The specifications of this protocol are unknown in the public domain. An attempt to hack the server will not lead to any response of the server. The server does not make itself public by broadcasting. The communication port will act if it is closed when there is not the right protocol.
- An user ID and password are necessary to get access to an user account.
- All client-side queries which are send over the TCP/IP network, are coded with the Diffie- Hellman protocol.
- All data will be send to the Backup Server and is saved in a 128-bits AES encrypted format. The encryption key is NEVER present at the Backup Server.
The storage systems for our Backup Bank are double redundant executed, that means:
- All Backup Servers have a RAID-5 disc-save-system. Failure of a hard disk does not lead to the loss of data.
- Every primary Backup Server has a continuous connection with a secondary Backup Server on another location. The data between these two servers is continuously synchronized. This synchronization process takes some time, so it cannot be guaranteed that the secondary backup is 100% up-to-date. It can be guaranteed that – except for situations of maintenance – the backup data on the secondary Backup Server is not more than 24 hours older than the backup data on the primary Backup Server.
